Daily Post: Spiritual High
I haven’t written in awhile school has been screwing with me D: …
Anyways, people are always worried about taking in only a spiritual high from retreats and lock-ins, etc. But are they actually always that bad? In my personal experience, I’ve had about 20 spiritual highs, and look where I am now (not trying to say I’m perfect, but I’ve changed). Every retreat, every lock-in you need to learn something, either something that WILL stay in your heart for the rest of your life, or how to do something: how to pray, how to praise, etc. Every single time you need to become more sanctified, so that a step is taken. Never forget that God doesn’t care about the past. I mean Paul arguably turned out to be one of THE greatest apostles of God.
Now, having said this, doesn’t mean that you shouldn’t try at all. When a retreat is over, go home and keep it with your heart as LONG as possible. As long you have the Holy Spirit as you heart, mind, and eyes you learn and take jumps toward God. Feels great :D.
So in conclusion, don’t be so upset about the fading fire that you had at the retreat. Just keep trying and trying, and when you finally reach that point……. unspeakable joy.
God Bless
